In many ways that's true but the real foundation goes way back even before him actually. I would like to give a little credit to my great uncle. That would be my father's mother's brother. My great uncle was a man by the name of Henry Beltman. Henry Beltman was a missionary in China. Henry Beltman came back from China in the 1930's, saw my father at five years old and said to him, "You are going to be a preacher when you grow up." My father took that to heart and became a pastor. Today, when I prepare for my sermons, I always pull out a book I have in my library entitled A Harmony of the Gospels. It's written by Kerr. It is a very simple book, actually. It puts the four gospels side by side next to each other so you can look at all four of the gospels side by side. I like to know what all the different gospels have to say about the same text, so I always read it. Continue...
