Wednesday, May 7 Our Example If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 Recommended Reading Deuteronomy 5:29 A Sunday school teacher instructed her first grade students to draw a picture of God. Later, when the pastor stopped by the classroom, the students were eager to show him their drawings. One student had depicted God as a brightly colored rainbow. Another had drawn what looked like an old man emerging from a cloud. And another looked very similar to Superman. The best rendition though came from a little girl who proudly said, "I don't know what God looks like, so I just drew a picture of my daddy." Obviously that little girl's father made it a priority to live out what he taught his daughter about God. What do your children see when they look at you? As parents, we can talk to our children about God as the day is long; but ultimately, it is our example that will teach them how to live. If you feel you are not setting a Godly example for your children, get on your knees and ask God to help you grow in your relationship with Him because you cannot impart what you do not possess.
