Chicken Soup

Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.
Luke 8:39

Recommended Reading
Deuteronomy 6:6-9

When you are sick, what is the first thing that comes to mind? If you said, "What my mom or grandmother used to do when I was a child," then you are among the millions of people who remember the comfort of a concoction that was created by a family member to soothe and comfort during illness. Whether it's chicken soup and echinacea for a cold, a tablespoon of sugar for hiccups, peppermint tea for an upset stomach, or chamomile tea for restlessness at bedtime, we all have some "cure" that is among the countless home remedies passed down from one generation to the next, keeping alive the traditions and know-how of those who have gone before us.

It is the same with our spiritual lives. We must pass on to our children and grandchildren stories of what God has done and is doing in our lives so that they will know the Lord that we love and worship. If God is working mightily in our lives, what benefit is there from keeping it to ourselves? We need to share our trials, tribulations, and triumphs with those who will live beyond us, for it is the only way the next generation will know of our love for Christ.

Let us share what God has done for the betterment of future generations to come.
