I can't do it alone." In Alcoholics Anonymous they wait until the alcoholic "hits bottom." When he is in the pits, he has enough authentic humility to say, "I need help! My life is out of control." That's petition. The Bible says, "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know" (Jeremiah 33:3). You have needs that must be prayed for in your marriage, in your business, in your studies, at school, and in relationships. God wants to help you. And we all need help at one time or another, so don't be too proud to ask for it when your time comes. God knows your deepest need. He knows your deepest sorrow. He knows your secret longing and your buried fear. His shoulders are big enough to carry the weight of the world. Tap into prayer for God's miracle-working power. It's the most exciting way to live!
