But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure...James 3:17
So often we read in the Bible about purity. But what does it really mean to be pure? It means to be clean.
When you wake up in the morning, one of the first things you do is look in a mirror. You brush your teeth and comb your hair. You want to make sure that before you leave the house, you are clean.
Spiritually, God is the only one who can make us clean. And when we seek his wisdom, the 'wisdom that comes from heaven,' we are seeking the only thing that can truly make us pure.
So when you wake up tomorrow morning, don't just look into the mirror in your bathroom. Go to God's Word and look in the mirror that can truly guide you on his path toward purity.
A Prayer for Today
Dear God, I know that the only thing that can make me pure is you. Help me each day to look into the mirror you have provided, the Bible, to find direction and hope for being cleansed. And help me each day to walk that path that you have provided. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
